管理者不是魔术师，所以不能凭空创造奇迹。在复杂的商务环境中，几乎没有什么决定可以是100%正确的。所有的决定都带有倾向性、个人判断、价值观以及各种实际情况限制。所以说管理是一门艺术，是一门平衡的艺术。
平衡不是平均主义，不是取悦每一个人，而是有原则的取舍、很周到的集中。
1、战略性的思考，和思考的战略性（Strategic Thinking & Think Strategically）
想当元帅的士兵喜欢战略性的思考。通过战略性的思考（Strategic Thinking）制订公司、部门的战略，并且用强大的执行力（Execution）和一致性（Consistency）加以实现，可以有很大的成就感。但是在一个优秀的人聚集的公司，每个人都从事战略性的思考是非常危险的。16种不同MBTI性格的可能会有16个方向，这必将导致公司的方向混乱，资源浪费。所以，有时候我们要甘于思考的战略性（Think Stragegically），考虑问题的时候能顾及公司现有的大战略，把自己的工作往战略上靠，才能万众一心，达成目标。
太多的人在做战略性的思考是大公司的通病。平衡这两点是管理者的一个难题。我很欣赏一位高官说的话：“We cannot do strategic thinking, but we can think strategically.”
2、三个客户：老板、员工、消费者（Three Customers: Boss, Employees and Consumers）
消费者不是你的唯一客户，如果“不惜一切代价”换取客户的满意度，那对公司是非常危险的。因为让消费者满意的最终目的是让老板满意，让股东满意。员工不是你的唯一客户，“皮之不存，毛之焉附”。公司的亏损、消亡将导致更多的员工降薪、失业。裁员对管理者来说永远是一个两难的、痛苦的决定。老板更不是你的唯一客户，否则你就只会PMP（拍马屁）了。
平衡的管理者通过让消费者和员工满意，达到让老板满意的目的。
3、昨天、今天、明天、后天（Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, The Day After Tomorrow）
服务部门是为昨天的利润工作，给已经购买产品客户提供承诺的价值。销售部门是为今天的利润工作，把产品变成利润，争取更多的客户。开发部门是为明天的利润工作，确保明天我们有优秀的产品可以卖。研究部门是为后天的利润工作，了解趋势、发展科技，保证永远处于领先位置。
只看今天的管理者是短视的。眼中有着四天，并且懂得平衡资源的管理者，才能有可预见的成功。

MBTI is not about management. In another word, normally, only several types of MBTI will try to have strategic think.
Nevertheless, MBTI is very interesting thing and can add lots of value if you can apply them to daily job and understand more about your colleagues.
The Big Five model is actually more accurate in describing different personalities than MBTI. Anyway, I would doubt that if one organization consisting of people with similar personalities can produce better result, either in terms of formulating the strategy or executing the strategy, than people with different personalities. There should also be balance between homogeneous and heterogeneous within an organization.
Anyway, MBTI is more about understanding ourselves and others and therefore managing ourselves and others more effectively. I agree with Max on this point.
